Don't call it singlespeed

Singlespeed bike riding should be renamed to 1-geared biking (SS → 1G).

Think about it.. I may only run one gear ratio, but I can ride my bike at many different speeds.

Case in point: when I'm out riding with my 4-year old son, I go about 10kph. When I'm biking to work, I average 20 kph. When I'm trying to get away from the neighbor's dog, I go 30 kph. All on the same, 1-geared bike.

I guess the term "speed" here is culled from the automotive industry, where they equated "speed" with "gear"
