Sony Ericsson 12Mp camera-phone

SE has just announced a multimedia device, dubbed the "Idou" (pronounced "I do"; but SE says that it will eventually be marketed under a different name).

Quick specs include a 16:9 aspect ratio, 3.5" touch screen (640x360) able to display 16 million colours; 3G; Wifi; GPS, Symbian S60-based OS (new, open source version that's still under development); microSD card slot; 3.5mm audio jack; 12Mp(!) camera with autofocus and Xenon flash.

I find this last spec to be quite silly. Whereas the real digital camera market has sobered up and slowed down in the megapixel race, mobile phone makers are still trying to outdo each other in this area. I can't imagine how horrible the images taken by the Idou would be =p

I'm no fan of SE anyway, but thought I'd throw this one out to all you techies out there.

At least they decided to go Symbian on this one... (and not sucky WinMo).
