The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

My two colleagues went to Bangkok for a business trip at the end of November 2007, and I decided to have them get me a new digicam:

(I wrote about this a while back)

Quick Specs
  • Max. Resolution: 8Mp
  • 18x optical zoom: 28mm to 504mm focal length (35mm equiv.)
  • Mega OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation)
  • full manual controls
  • 2.5" LCD screen (207,000 dots) with High Angle mode
  • 848 x 480 max resolution for video recording (max 30fps)
  • Intelligen Auto Mode
  • Face Detection
'got the FZ18 on the 3rd of December and have taken about 1500 shots as of mid February (haven't sideloaded the other photos in the memory card yet). The camera came with a few freebies, including: 1GB SD card, tripod, bag.
I paid about P7k less than what it would've cost if I bought it locally ;-)

All in all, I'm very pleased with it ;D (and the plot thickens...)

I've since bought a Tamrac bag (the Velocity 6x), an extra battery and a 4GB SDHC card.
